Where Colton Goes Deep

Across the stack, across regulated industries.

Two decades across the database, the backend, and the modern web—most of it in regulated environments.

Technology

  • Two decades of relational database engineering—schema architecture, query optimization, and tens of thousands of lines of production stored procedures, functions, and triggers (primarily SQL Server)
  • Full-stack TypeScript at production scale—Node.js APIs and business logic on the server; React applications (Next.js among them) on the client
  • Cloud-native architecture—microservices and containerized services on Azure today; GCP and AWS in prior chapters
  • Geospatial systems and analytical tooling—open-source and proprietary solutions to complex geospatial analysis challenges, built ground-up at Transect
  • Machine learning and GenAI integration—clinical decision support and AI-integrated product surfaces in production

Domains

  • Healthcare SaaS—prior authorization, ePA systems, and GenAI-powered clinical decision support; payer and PBM workflows at Banjo, provider-side products at Circulo
  • Regulated environments—HIPAA-bound healthcare data and enterprise compliance posture for client procurement
  • Regulatory data and geospatial systems—land use, environmental, and proprietary regulatory tooling built ground-up at Transect
  • Enterprise client implementations with health plans and PBMs—multi-client launch programs and complex ePA and clinical decision support integrations

Kind, compassionate, driven, competitive, moral compass. He is not a ticket grabber but a bonafide partner. While in the trenches of shipping multiple experiences, he was always composed, helpful and humble. I would always work with Colton.

Beyond the work

Family, community, and the small things that keep the rest in perspective.

Colton’s heart is full when he spends time with Ally and their four children—Lillian (11), Ruth (9), Lowell (7) and John (5).

The kids love exploring the outdoors and learning about the world around them! Lilly is the artist; Ruth is the free spirit; Lowell is the cowboy; and John is probably gonna give all of them a run for their money!
